A 24/7 on-demand news and information destination, ABC News Live provides live breaking news and original reporting on topics relevant to our audiences from politics, weather, business, health, personal finance, entertainment, culture, lifestyle and travel.

A Day in the Life…

ABC News Live interns perform a variety of duties. You will be assisting producers and staff with all aspects of production.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Booking, assisting with news breaking crashes, logging & transcribing
• Assisting with graphics
• Researching stories & additional support functions
• Light video editing
• Pitching stories
• Shadowing in control room
• Shadowing/assisting on shoots
• Assisting with social media
• Running scripts
• Running teleprompter
• Assisting on segments
• Fact checking

What we are looking for…

(Basic Qualifications)
• Demonstrated ability to grasp concepts quickly, work collaboratively on a team and be efficient & reliable
• Initiative, curiosity and a solid work ethic
• Demonstrated interest in broadcast journalism
• Experience with basic video editing
• You must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Positive ''can-do'' attitude ready to absorb all this internship has to offer

(Preferred Qualifications)
• Students who have worked with their college's journalism, broadcast or media program
• Proficient in AVID or similar editing software

Required Education:
• To be eligible for this internship you must be a junior, senior or a recent graduate (within 6 months of your graduation date) pursing a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, Film/Television or a related field

Additional Details:
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
• Must be at least 18 years of age​ and possess unrestricted work authorization
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program. ​
• Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session, there is room for some flexibility however
• Must be able to work on-site in New York City and provide your own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship
• This internship is primarily an in-person internship with occasional remote flexibility
• Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are January 2024 - June 2024. Candidate must be available to work 16-40 hours/week in Eastern Standard time for the duration of the internship- could be nights, weekends
