About the Role & Program
Join the committed team that delivers the top-rated morning show in America – Good Morning America! GMA interns provide production support to booking, first hour, second hour or field and series teams. Throughout the experience, interns have an opportunity to collaborate with producers, attend editorial meetings and learn the inner workings of America's number one morning show.
The approximate dates of this internship are September 2025 through early January 2026.
What You Will Do
• Support staff by answering phones, attending morning and afternoon editorial meetings, possibly booking guests, writing scripts, producing taped content, and performing other tasks as required
• Research topics using a variety of sources, including video archives, the internet, library archives and others as needed
• Your responsibilities may also include: handling mail and providing additional support functions as needed
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Experience with multi-tasking in a constantly evolving work environment, effectively balancing and prioritizing multiple projects
• Experience working in collaborative environments, and researching and/or using a range of tools to acquire information and present findings
• Familiar with and/or interest in journalism or news writing
• Knowledge of and/or interest in GMA's daily show
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience (academic or internship) in journalism (print and/or broadcast); television production, news and news media production; and/or television news script writing
• Experience using Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Word, Access, Excel & PowerPoint
• Experience related to social media including Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, and YouTube
Education
• Major or previous coursework in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, Film/Television or a related field
• Junior or Senior year preferred
Eligibility Requirements & Internship Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
• Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
• Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
• Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
• The approximate dates of this internship are September 2025 through early January 2026
• Fully available to work 40 hours per week (hours and days to be determined by your supervisor and could include early mornings, nights, weekends, and/or possible overnights)
• Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the New York, New York area
• Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
The pay rate for this role in New York is $22.00 per hour.
