Job Description

As the largest most diversified television broadcasting company in the country, we continuously look to embrace new digital opportunities and challenge ourselves to defy expectations of what a broadcaster can do. Recently, we strategically acquired 23 Regional Sports Networks (RSNs) and we are looking for team members to join us in integrating this new and important piece of our business that will expand our range of content across the country and extend our multi-platform expansion opportunities. We are looking for a strong operational leader to serve as the leader of Sinclair's RSN operations. In this role, you will be responsible for setting high-level strategy and directional goals and identifying the right people to execute. You will be intimately involved in the design and build the new, state of the art operations and technology for Sinclair, starting with the RSNs. You will oversee the management of all departments within the RSN operations organization, liaising with the RSNs and senior leadership, and serving as a point of contact for RSN operations vendor partner(s). In addition to managerial duties, you will also be responsible for managing and reporting on all budgetary items for the RSNs operations. You will play a critical role in ensuring Sinclair's RSN operations run smoothly and provide engaging Sports content to viewers across the country.

Responsibilities:
Operations, Collaboration & Partnerships
• Oversee the management of all operations departments within the RSNs, including technical and engineering teams that are critical to building products and solutions to evolve the business
• Set, manage, and report on RSN operations budget
• Operate as the primary point of contact between Sinclair leadership, Regional Sports Network properties and all vendors that support the centralized regional networks operations
• Manage relationship with strategic technology partners, including hardware, software and cloud vendors
• Oversee Sinclair's RSN operations vendor contracts and ensure vendor services are in line with contractual requirements

Performance Improvement
• Set strategy, identify and lead growth initiatives the leverage the latest digital technologies and techniques, and identify appropriate leaders to execute
• Define RSN objectives, define what 'great' looks like, and report on RSN ops performance on an on-going basis
• Define the technology roadmap

People Management & Development
• Build and develop high-performing, engaged teams as part of the next generation of digital and innovative entertainment
• Inspire a culture of continuous learning and adoption of digital and emerging technologies

Qualifications:
• 12+ years of relevant broadcast industry work experience
• 8+ years management experience
• Ability to lead and motivate large teams
• Ability to translate and communicate business requirements into operational and technical requirements
• Understanding of industry standards from organizations such as the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
• Experience with financial management and financial reporting
• Proven experience setting long-term strategy and operationalizing new processes
• Proven experience running large-scale operation centers
• Experience with live sports integration required
• Familiarity with ATSC 3.0, RF/Satellite and terrestrial distribution technologies, as well as major codecs, including MPEG2, HEVC and emerging codes
