The Job
The Core News team is responsible for CNN's flagship web and mobile app products. We are creating the future of digital news experiences for more than 170mm people around the world every month. As the Principle Product Manager Design Strategist for Core News, you will help conceptualize, explore, and refine new and existing experiences that inform and engage users with their world. We're looking for a person who wants the chance to impact the current and future experience for digital news experiences at CNN.

The Daily
• Serve as central point-of-contact for design on the Core News team, connecting design, product, engineering, editorial, and users.
• Develop innovative design solutions that address complex business and user needs, with a focus on differentiating CNN Digital's designs from the current market.
• Use divergent design thinking techniques for the conceptual development of products and content.
• Create and facilitate creative workshops, such as design sprints.
• Collaborate with Creative Directors and Designers through presentations of creative strategies, proof of concept, prototypes and well-articulated, persuasive narratives.
• Involve Designers and key players across multiple cross-functional teams in core news in design sprints, concept testing, etc.
• Mentor junior team members around design concepts and UI/UX attributes.

The Essentials
• Demonstrated experience building consumer-facing, multi-platform, multi-media digital products.
• 8+ years experience in human centered design, design research, business design, or customer experience projects.
• A portfolio demonstrating strong visual and UX design solutions to real-world business cases.
• Knowledge/mastery of best-practices of information architecture, usability principles and testing techniques.
• Demonstrated experience with ethnographic research (quantitative and qualitative), divergent exploration, conceptual development.
• Experience drawing from a variety of research methods - interviews, observations, diary studies, prototyping, surveys, user testing, and experiments - at different stages in the design.
• Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Strong work ethic, integrity and collaborative approach to work.
• Ability to think strategically and to translate ideas into actions.
