Job Description

UMC works closely with legendary labels like Island, Polydor and Virgin EMI to promote some of the world’s greatest music from artists such as The Beatles, The Who and Sir Elton John.

This role will be working alongside the Marketing Assistant(s) providing support and assistance to them and the entire department as necessary.

Skills & Experience

Be Administrative
• Collect and distribute post
• UK + Int Courier bookings
• Book taxis/transport/accommodation for internal staff and artists
• Order stock via FOC systems
• Prepare/print documents for planning meetings and take meeting minutes
• Monitor press coverage daily (each morning), saving and circulating key articles and reviews
• Process invoices raise requisitions in Uniport and raise label budgets
• Source imagery from Hayes archive when requested
• Assist marketing managers with artist research/timeline development
• LSA approval – requests to be added to Dist. Lists, New Starter set-up etc
• Source video assets via Bitmax

Be Organised
• Order stationery and keep cupboard tidy
• Place CD/DVD duplication orders with external copy houses
• Organise meetings / book meeting rooms / set up Skype meetings
• Collate charts and reports for weekly marketing meeting
• Keep track of any major moments & anniversaries via the USM calendar
• Collate and distribute assets – e.g. pack shots, press releases, bios etc
• Create & distribute Play MPE
• Collate assets to create and order CDRs
• Research label copy in R2
• Assist in the running of competitions and mailing prizes
• Update the marketing managers schedule weekly
• Assist on artist showcases, events and promotional duties
• Update maintain & distribute the Marketing Managers schedule across projects & moments
• Weekly audit & distribution of playlist adds & streaming growth figures
• Attend creative sessions, putting ideas forward
• Assist in research for new products and projects
• Additional ad hoc duties where required

Person Specification

Necessary
• Highly organised with the ability to keep calm under pressure
• The ability to learn quickly
• Self-motivated, hard-working and enthusiastic
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Flexible and able to prioritise own workload
• Good computer skills i.e. Microsoft Office, Excel, Word
• The ability to learn new programs and systems quickly
• Passionate about music with a desire to progress in the industry

Desirable
• Experience of working in an office environment
• Experience working in ‘music’ (personal or professional)
• Working knowledge of the digital landscape including social networks
• Desire to work within marketing
• Wide ranging music knowledge
