Job Description


CBS Entertainment Marketing is looking for someone who has extensive experience developing strategic, highly creative and effective social media and digital marketing campaigns to launch and market a wide variety of original TV programs, series and specials. As the VP, Social Media Entertainment, you will be responsible for managing all organic social media marketing efforts for CBS Entertainment programming, effectively engaging users across all types of social media platforms, designing and overseeing key influencer marketing initiatives and leading our efforts to manage individual show handles. You will gather appropriate data to effectively set objectives, identify target audiences and develop, produce, implement and measure strategies, tactics and content plans that are coordinated with broader marketing and content initiatives. You will lead a team of social media strategists who will work collaboratively with internal teams and out-of-house agencies to develop and execute engaging, innovative and strategic social media marketing, influencer and content plans that help build the CBS brand as a top choice for entertainment content.
• Develop, implement and manage a clear strategic vision and strategy for all social media activities across CBS original TV programs, series and specials
• Develop big, innovative and ground-breaking ideas that work to define our social media voice while enhancing the CBS brand
• Manage the development of all entertainment social media marketing plans, including overall strategies and integrated engagement initiatives for both paid and organic efforts
• Set clear objectives, identify targets and set engagement strategies across a multitude of content types including original entertainment series and specials
• Build and implement strategies that provide the most advantageous opportunity to gain significant and valid recognition by our audiences and the industry
• Develop and manage relationships with key publishers, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snap, YouTube, TikTok and other social/digital partners
• Develop and manage influencer marketing strategies
• Gather, analyse and apply relevant data and customer insights to help define effective and innovative strategic approaches
• Measure outputs against internal and external efforts
• Build, direct and manage an internal team of best-in-class social marketing strategists
• Build and manage highly positive relationships and work effectively with executive producers/showrunners, talent, publicists, agents, managers and media outlets
• Collaborate effectively with CBS Marketing team leadership including media, creative and promotion teams
• Work collaboratively across a wide-range of business units, including CBS Entertainment, CBS Studios, CBSi, CBS News, CBS Sports, CBS Interactive, CBS Television Stations and other CBS-branded businesses and sister companies
• Effectively build and manage relationships with out-of-house agency partners and vendors
• Effectively manage a budget against all efforts, including creative development, production and influencer marketing
• Work to develop and implement new processes and mechanisms that will ultimately improve team performance, creativity, communication, collaboration


Work Experience:
• 10+ years of experience in social media marketing
• Relevant social media management experience with a major studio, media company, streaming service, brand and/or entertainment marketing agency
• Experience leading social media strategic planning, creative development and implementation processes
• Experience leading a large team across multiple disciplines
• Experience with paid social media planning and implementation is preferable
• Experience gathering and interpreting social media data
• Experience with influencer marketing
• Experience with talent (talent agency background encouraged but not required)

• Ability to develop forward-thinking ideas for a wide range of entertainment marketing asset types, designed to drive customer acquisition/retention as we deepen audience engagement and enhance the CBS brand position
• Exceptional understanding of social and digital platforms
• Exemplary team player able to build relationships quickly with internal and external stakeholders with a wide range of personality types
• Professional experience in a leadership position overseeing a dynamic, diverse creative marketing team
