Job Description

As the largest most diversified television broadcasting company in the country, we continuously look to embrace new digital opportunities and challenge ourselves to defy expectations of what a broadcaster can do. Recently, we strategically acquired 23 Regional Sports Networks (RSNs) and we are looking for team members to join us in integrating this new and important piece of our business that will expand our range of content across the country and extend our multi-platform expansion opportunities. We are looking for a strong technical operations candidate to provide oversight over Sinclair's regional sports network (RSN) operations and be the day-to-day point of contact for any RSN 3rd party partner(s). In this role, you will help provide direct oversight to all RSN operational departments, in conjunction with and while reporting to the Senior Director of RSN Operations. You will be responsible for the technical performance of the regional networks, including ensuring Standard Operating Procedures and technical standards are met, ensuring the resolution of technical issues with any equipment as needed, and resolving any immediate on-air issues or changes that arise.

Responsibilities:
Operations, Collaboration & Partnerships
• Define and oversee operational performance metrics, Standard Operating Procedures, reporting, and score carding components
• Manage operational forecasts and costs
• Serve as the day-to-day liaison between regional sports network (RSN) operations, other Sinclair departments, and any 3rd party(s) in Sinclair's RSN technical and operations ecosystem
• Oversee the performance of and compliance with any other 3rd party operational contracts, to include monitoring of Service Level Agreements (SLA's) and quality of performance
• Serve as the main point of contact and provide managerial support to all departments in the RSN operations facilities including On-Air Operations, Transmission Scheduling, Distribution Operations and key technical and engineering teams that are critical to building products and solutions to evolve the business
• Coordinate between RSN properties and Traffic Hub to ensure Standard Operating Procedures and technical standards are met for all operational activities
• Coordinate the day-of-air communications activity with Regional Sports Network properties and any 3rd party
• Act as the 24/7 point-of-contact with any 3rd party to resolve any immediate On-Air issues or changes at our RSNs
• Collaborate with contacts at the RSNs as needed
• Ensure that all equipment utilized by any 3rd party for video distribution and network hardware is operational and ensure resolution of any technical issues to ensure uninterrupted daily operations
• Manage relationship with strategic technology partners, including hardware, software and cloud vendors
• Ensure that any 3rd party's performance is executed in a unified manner, in accordance with Sinclair procedures and RSN operations

Performance Improvement
• Drive forth the strategy identified by the Sr. Director of Operations, and give input into new growth and improvement initiatives
• Assist in defining and implementing the technology roadmap
• Identify opportunities to eliminate waste, thus improving performance workflow and operations
• Implement saleable and repeatable services

People Management & Development

Qualifications:
• 10+ years of relevant industry work experience
• 6+ years management experience required
• Ability to translate and communicate business requirements into operational and technical requirements
• Experience in 3rd party management, client management, or client service a plus
• Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting elaborate and complex video distribution technology and media systems, with the ability to properly correct issues
• Experience with live sports integration required
• Familiarity with ATSC 3.0, RF/Satellite and terrestrial distribution technologies, as well as major codecs, including MPEG2, HEVC and emerging codes
