Job Description

Responsibilities
Job Purpose:
The Manager, Accounting is responsible for NBC Network & TV Production's key accounting processes including accounts receivable, the revenue cycle, balance sheet reconciliations and internal reporting. The role will report into the VP, Assistant Controller and will work closely with production finance as well as multiple FP&A departments across NBC Entertainment Network Universal Television, Universal Cable Productions, First Run Syndication and the Entertainment Lifestyle Group.

Responsibilities:
• Review revenue contracts and ensure they are processed through our revenue subledger; this includes contract maintenance, billing, revenue recognition, cash application and contract revisions
• Perform timely and accurate revenue recognition for both 3rd party and intercompany within NBC Entertainment and the Entertainment Lifestyle Group in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare revenue checklists and memos in accordance with ASC 606
• Manage the non-contract billing process, which will require interaction with Production Finance Executives as well as the billing team in Amsterdam
• Participate in technical interpretation of revenue recognition on key agreements not limited to licensing, producer, and co-production agreements
• Perform monthly close duties including but not limited to journal entry preparation and review, account reconciliations, bad debt and aging review, customer A/R balance analysis
• Ensure cash clearing and cash application process is being maintained multiple times per week
• Prepare an A/R aging weekly for distribution to the wider finance group
• Perform analysis of account receivable and revenue by customer and by title regularly to report key metrics to management
• Lead cash collections efforts with assistance of the billing team and production audit
• Assist in preparation of TVP & NBC balance sheet packages and corporate reporting data requests
• Key CAFÉ and GRU user and functional expert which can provide training and coaching to the broader finance organization as needed
• Document key processes; identify areas of opportunities and create plans to successfully execute improvements
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with the finance and controllership teams across all business units as well as corporate
• Perform ad hoc reporting and special projects as requested

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of relevant operational accounting/finance experience
• Experience reviewing and documenting revenue contracts preferred (ideally related to productions)
