System Engineer

Job Description

Responsibilities:
• Work closely with all departments to help satisfy the technical needs of the facility and network.
• Manage and support complex broadcast and IT systems over their complete life cycles
• Acquisition, routing and quality control of incoming & outgoing Satellite, Fiber and IP feeds
• Evaluate, test and install upgrades to all platform operating systems, applications, and hardware
• Assist in responding to and resolving IT/Desktop Hardware/Network/VOIP related issues.
• Facilitate repairs and preventative maintenance of various pieces of equipment in the facility.
• Assist Content, Studio and Remote production staffs by providing Engineering support of live broadcasts.
• Assist in construction, installation & documentation of new systems and equipment.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Broadcast Engineering
• Associates Degree or practical equivalent in Broadcast Digital Video, Management Information
• Systems, or Electronics Engineering
• Comprehensive knowledge of HD broadcast video systems, Networking, VLANS, and computers,
• DANTE audio infrastructure a plus
• Knowledge of wireless video, audio and communication systems
• Thorough knowledge of broadcast cameras, video switching, audio, intercom, graphics and routing systems
• Experienced in satellite downlink, fiber transmission, IP receiving systems
• Knowledge of file based editing, workflow, file transcoding and storage systems

• Must be willing to work in Bethesda, MD
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older
