At DreamWorks Animation Television, the Supervising Director will collaborate with show leadership under the guidance of the Executive Producer. The Supervising Director will act as a support to the Supervising Producer for all aspects of storyboards and animatics. Additionally, they will manage the Partner Studio(s) storyboard team(s), the team of in-house Directors, Storyboard Artists, Storyboard Revisionists and Editor (Animatics) to ensure alignment of the style, vision, and creative ambitions of the storyboards.

DreamWorks Animation Television has an exciting new opportunity for a Supervising Director to join its team on an exciting CG show. This position is covered by the Animation Guild. We are seeking candidates who are familiar with the animation pipeline and experienced in drawing storyboards.

Essential Duties Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the Supervising Producer and Director(s) to discuss creative ambitions for each episode
• Attend all storyboard handouts by working with the Supervising Producer to support them and communicate storytelling direction, design requirements, and expected level of polish to the storyboard team(s) to ensure that the Executive and Supervising Producer's creative goals are met
• Review storyboards and/or animatics with Supervising Producer with the intention of maintaining quality and continuity
• When needed, re-board, restructure the order and/or plus the scenes and/or sequences to to ensure the show stays on schedule and hits the creative vision of the show
• Responsible for locking the partner studio's animatics, working with a dedicated Animatic Editor and Storyboard Revisionist.
• Under the guidance of the Supervising Producer, work with writing teams to solve and/or troubleshoot aesthetic and/or production issues that may arise
• Work with the CG Animation Director to solve and/or troubleshoot any aesthetic or production issues with Director(s) and/or their story team(s)
• Maintain regular communication with the Partner Studio(s)
• On a regular basis, provide status updates to the Supervising Producer and Line Producer for troubleshooting, planning, and changes
• Weigh-in on the talent acquisition process with the Supervising Producer and Line Producer to review portfolios and tests, interview candidates, and provide detailed feedback
• When requested, attend meetings on behalf of the Executive and Supervising Producers such as: records, SFX reviews, animation reviews, mixes and other associated meetings
• Support the Director(s) and the storyboard team(s) and cultivate positive team morale
• Be available for periodic travel to the Partner Studio(s)

Qualifications/Requirements
• Strong drawing skills with a demonstrated sense of storytelling, comedy, staging, composition, and character acting
• Advanced knowledge of Storyboard Pro and Photoshop
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and keep a team on schedule
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Experience leading and fostering a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Is a team player, who genuinely enjoys working with others

Desired Characteristics
• At least 3 years experience as an Episodic Director working in television animation
• At least 5 years of experience as a Storyboard Artist working in television animation
• Ideal candidates will be able to provide storyboard samples
• Bachelor's degree preferred
