Brand Overview:

Build products in entertainment content verticals for CBS Interactive, one of the largest global premium content publishers. The CBS Television Distribution group at CBS Interactive creates video-based desktop, mobile, and app experiences for our syndicated television brands, including: Entertainment Tonight, Inside Edition, Rachael Ray, Doctor Phil, and The Doctors. The team works across broadcast and digital to deliver premium video, social, and mobile experiences.

Role Details:

As we expand our business, we need a seasoned engineer that can help implement and deploy stellar code. The ideal engineer candidate isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty. Your Day-to-Day:
• Develop front end code and presentation libraries for high profile consumer web sites and content applications.
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality, and reusable UI components, templates, and wireframes for use across consumer web sites and back end video management / publishing systems.
• Actively participate in daily stand ups with the development team.
• Contribute to application roadmap items and participate in regular code reviews.
• Maintain application quality and work to ensure responsiveness and scalability from all applications and services.
• Contribute to continuous integration, code testing, and engineering best practices across all development projects.
• Additional other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

What you bring to the team:

You have -
• 3+ years of full-stack development experience spanning all phases of the software development life cycle
• 2+ years experience in modern web application programming technologies, specifically React, JavaScript, PHP, HTML5,scss, and node.js
• Demonstrated strengths developing presentation layers for large scale websites, adaptive web-based applications, and mobile apps
• Deep knowledge of the Open Source content management platforms and deep familiarity with Drupal, Symfony, and OOP
• Proven technical acumen and experience across related technologies for high traffic web sites, mobile applications, and video (JavaScript/Node.js, PHP, MySQL, NoSQL/Hadoop/Mongo, Unix/Linux)
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team alongside other developers contributing to the same code base library
• Strong interpersonal skills; must be able to demonstrate an ability to work well with other non-technical members of the product team

You might also have -
• Experience integrating ad serving products and analytics/reporting tools into desktop and mobile experiences
• Experience with online video management and delivery
• Knowledge of multiple online publishing environments
• Server side scripting and basic Linux/Unix commands and utilities
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, technology, business, or related fields preferred
