Broadcast Engineer

Job Description

Fox Sports Florida / Fox Sports Sun are currently seeking a full-time Broadcast Engineer! This position will provide Engineering support for all in and outbound production feeds, Studio production support, repairing and installing broadcast and editing equipment and provide field support for the Sinclair Broadcast Group Regional Sports Network office in Tampa, FL.

Responsibilities:
• Ensures all Venue Area Network (VAN) transmission equipment is calibrated and operating correctly for Live-event telecasts; conducts quality control of all VAN feeds, corrects and documents technical problems.

• Engineering support for all live and prerecorded Studio productions.

• Provide Engineering support with all ENG television equipment

• Troubleshoots equipment where problems occur and performs regular maintenance tasks including repairs and replacement of equipment assigned by Fox Sports Florida management and Engineering staff.

• Consults with RSN Sports Engineering staff regarding corrective actions unable to resolve alone.

• Follows all SBG and FCC standards and guidelines.

• Interacts daily and communicates effectively with Engineering and Production staffs to understand and fulfill their requests during their shift.

• Other duties/projects assigned by managers for in and or out of office.

Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years' experience working in broadcast engineering and studio operations environment.

• Must be knowledgeable in all areas of technical production and familiar with all studio production equipment.

• Strong knowledge of technical setup for edit bays, including networking, servers and storage solutions

• Must have a strong knowledge of IP network related broadcast equipment. Good understanding of SMPTE 2110 -* Suite of Standards.

• Computer operating systems knowledge is a must, networking skills a plus.

• Knowledgeable with the maintaining of Avid and Apple Mac systems with LTO archiving and able to troubleshoot computer based broadcast equipment.

• Strong analytical and reasoning skills are essential as well as technical troubleshooting skills.

• Reasonable mathematical skills required

• Must have strong communication skills and be a team player.

• Occasionally required to bend and lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders of needed.

• Flexible hours/schedule and weekend and holiday shifts will be required.
