Summary of Position:

As a member of the Starz Broadcast Engineering team you will be responsible for design and implementation of Starz Linear Cloud channel origination and monitoring solutions. This role will provide technical leadership and guidance while utilizing best practices in development and management of Starz linear cloud infrastructure.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Direct, manage and oversee the design of Starz linear cloud and monitoring infrastructure

• Gather and document requirements for implementation of cloud infrastructure solutions and present technology vision to senior executives

• Serve as a point of escalation for Cloud Engineering-related issues

• Design and implement security and governance policies as they relate to cloud infrastructure

• Maintain a positive and supportive work culture

• Work with teams across the organization to troubleshoot cloud-related issues

• Mentor less senior members of the team

• Create and update documentation to facilitate cross-training and troubleshooting

Experience & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or similar discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience

• 5+ years’ experience in AWS Cloud architecture

• 5+ years’ experience of experience working in Linux and Windows environments

• Experience with linear broadcast television distribution requirements

• Working knowledge and understanding of complex media systems and workflows encompassing file ingest, transcoding and delivery

• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, SMTP, HTTP, load-balancers and VPC’s

• Experience with AWS EC2, S3, Beanstalk, CloudFront, Route53, Lambda

• Experience scripting one or more of the following Python, Powershell, PHP and NodeJS

• Experience building zero downtime deployments (Green/Blue)

• Experience with Container services (Docker)

• Experience with high availability architectures (AWS Multi-AZ/Multi-region)

• Experience with build automation and server orchestration (i.e. Bamboo, Terraform, Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, Cloud Formation)

• Experience using APM tools (DataDog)

• Experience using enterprise logging applications (Splunk)

• Experience using Windows Server 2008R2, 2012R2

• Experience using Linux (Ubuntu, RedHat, Amazon Linux and CentOS)

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
