Software Developer - Backend (Video)

Hulu’s Video team is seeking a Software Developer with a passion for backend service development to join our team in Beijing. As a Software Developer at Hulu, you will work closely with the research team to make groundbreaking technology into reality. The right person for this role should be a skilled developer, a quick learner, and motivated to build software influencing millions of users. WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Understand and implement the best engineering practices to write well constructed and easy to maintain code, and write defensive and robust tests
• Improve the Video workflow including transcoding, packaging, and publishing; implement scalable and robust video processing pipelines
• Design well-architected solutions and build iteratively into systems while maintaining the best agile practices
• Connect with peers and managers and present views and opinions clearly
• Collaborate with team to solve Hulu problems in innovative new ways

WHAT TO BRING
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 1+ years of software development experience, and proficiency in Python, C, or similar
• Expertise with core Computer Science fundamentals, including Object-Oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms
• Fundamental understanding of databases and microservices
• A desire to relentlessly dive into problems and improve systems

NICE-TO-HAVES
• Video domain knowledge(DASH, HLS, FFmpeg, etc.)
• Experience in workflow development
