Overview:

The Programme Planning Manager is an integral part of Eurosport’s UK Broadcast team, and in conjunction with the pan-euro programming team, will be responsible for devising strategy & accurate planning for programming content for the Eurosport UK schedules. This position is based in Chiswick London, working Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends to meet the needs of the business and the demands of the sporting calendar.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Broadcast, the main duties would include:
• Manage the creation, implementation & delivery of programme schedules for 2 linear feeds & the Eurosport Player

• In conjunction with Senior Broadcast Manager, devise long-term strategy for all live sport with a particular focus on core pillar content to maximise performance of the channels

• Present Eurosport schedules to key stakeholders on a fortnightly basis, ensuring all schedules are finalised 6 weeks prior to TX date.

• Working closely with programme planning assistant to ensure alignment on programming strategy & plans executed accordingly

• Regular dialogue with pan-euro programming & commercial teams to understand & deliver all commercially sensitive programming

• With high attention to detail, construct Eurosport schedules using Whats’ On programming system & create the supporting documentation associated with schedules, specifically media management

• Create & communicate effective contingency schedules to ensure necessary programme content available to manage live cancellations and/or underruns.

• Utilise the Discovery Research & Insights team to provide data across Eurosport channels & marketplace to inform programme decision making

• Working with Director of Broadcast & Production to analyse suitability of potential rights acquisitions for both linear & digital platforms

• Liaise with third party content providers to ensure relevant information available for non-live local acquisitions

• Supply necessary programme information to sister channel Quest for all FTA sports content

Requirements:
• Strong experience working in a programme planning environment, you’ll have strong knowledge of the Eurosport content portfolio coupled with a detailed understanding of the marketplace & other sport broadcasters.

• Very experienced with sports programming and content

• A quick learner with exemplary computer literacy and strong attention to detail, you enjoy planning and problem solving.

• You possess good organisational, managerial & communications skills, & are able to work calmly under pressure.
