Responsibilities
Position Overview:
The Senior Director will work closely with the show producers and technical crew to ensure the show rundown is executed cleanly and accurately from inception. Responsibilities include daily studio direction and crew meetings, managing large-scale projects involving set design or specialty shows including outside rentals as directed. Until further notice, this position will be a hybrid and will include scheduled days on-site in addition to days working from home.

Job Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Senior Management, Producers, Operations managers and crew to create & organize production elements which include live shots, graphics, tapes and camera blocking
• Manage a group of 2 staff Directors plus freelancers; This will involve scheduling employees via MediaPulse, interviewing, hiring and cultivating outside candidates to maintain an adequate freelance pool
• Overseeing the performance review process
• Select appropriate show music for animations, billboards and edited segments
• Collaborate with set and graphic designers to enhance the overall creative look of a show
• Contribute and collaborate on new technology and best practice ideas to improve existing workflows
• Maintain a leadership role and work closely with SVP Operations to ensure production best practice standards are maintained
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of six (6) years studio experience directing live, fast-paced news, talk and or sports-oriented programs
• Minimum three (3) years' management experience
• Ability to demonstrate and maintain an understanding of established industry standards, equipment and quality control
• Familiarity with automated and manual production workflows along with the ability to operate Ross Overdrive systems
• Knowledge of live news, sports, talk and remote production operations

Desired Characteristics
• Previous experience working in a High Definition, state-of-the-art, server-based facility
• Previous experience with set design and graphic designers. Virtual set experience a plus
• Ability to make priority decisions under extreme deadlines and keep pace with fast moving shows
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Proficiency in iNEWS or similar newsroom computer system a plus
