Responsibilities
NBC Media Engineering Technology Production Systems is an engineering group that spans all production areas across NBC Universal. The group has sole responsibility for all technical systems used for Production in 30 Rockefeller Plaza, NY. This department is heavily involved in the technical design & support across all production systems for events and new initiatives, as well as sustaining excellence across the NBC production facilities.

The Manager of Engineering Support will be responsible for providing front line sustainability for all production systems within the 30 Rockefeller facilities. The core responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Implementation of standards, controls, processes and technologies that ensure a high degree of availability and reliability for the production system environments.
• Vendor management by monitoring performance, providing feedback, championing new projects, and defining or approving/disapproving change control processes.
• Measurement of maintenance effectiveness, and efficiency across Production System maintenance.
• Management of a dynamic team that provides ''best in class'' support for the NBC Production, including show-specific technical requirements, effectively managing overtime budgets and meeting contractual obligations for represented personnel.

Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelors Degree
• At least 5 years of System management experience with a particular focus on production maintenance support.
• In-depth understanding of technologies spanning four principal areas: Graphic, Studio, Edit & Newsroom systems.
• Experience managing teams, including both represented and non-represented staff
• Extensive knowledge in Avid products, such as: Interplay, Newscutter, Media Composer, Symphony, ISIS, Archive Providers, & Transfer Manager
• Understanding various file formats: QuickTime, Windows Media, MPEG50, MPEG2, MPEG4, DNX, etc.
