Senior Backend Developer / Senior DevOps (Linux)

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. ("MGM") is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer / Senior DevOps (Linux) to join its Media Technology Group (MTG). The ideal candidate will work with MTG team members, vendors, and executives to deliver complex multi-disciplinary technology projects.

• Designing and building highly scalable infrastructures from ground level to highly efficient paradigms that enable rapid growth of both human proficiency and developing technologies
• Mastery with system and operations management, backend development, and cloud services scaling built upon a deep understanding of industry patterns and best practices
• Contributing to technical teams, mentoring, and project management to foster growth and leadership in high growth organizations
• Expertise in communicating technical data to business analysts, software developers, and project management personnel

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 10+ years' experience as a Senior Software Developer or Senior DevOps Engineer with the ability to code
• Experience in Media and Entertainment industry preferred
• Experience working in an Agile environment and familiarity with various SDLC methodologies
• Experience leading project delivery using both agile and waterfall methodology
• Ability to see big picture and still understand/manage details
• Highly responsive with strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize, and juggle multiple deadlines and projects while keeping peers, partners, and supervisor abreast of activities
• Self-motivated, accountable, highly organized, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment

• Software Development: Golang, Python, Django, Ruby, Rails, SQL, HTML5/CSS3/JS, Git/Hg/SVN, JQuery/REST/, Shell-scripting, Java
• Systems/Software: Nginx/Apache/Lighttpd, Terraform, mySQLd/postgres/mongod, CloudWatch, collectd, DNS/bind/r53, Active Directory/LDAP, VSCode/Atom/Sublime/Eclipse, Github, Gitlab, Microsoft Office, Atlassian (JIRA, Confluence), Ansible, Salt, Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Slack
• Cloud: Amazon (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenFaaS. EKS/ECS, GCP Functions
• Operating Systems: UNIX (Linux, *BSD), Mac OS X/Darwin, Microsoft Windows Server

• Highly scalable systems design, Operations Engineering, Cloud and physical systems architecture, Opensource web platforms, Scalable cloud infrastructures, Platform as a Service, Infrastructure as Code, Release Engineering, Version control, Packaging, Change management and control
