College Marketing Representative - Program Manager


Sony Music U plays an essential role in the development of Sony Music's emerging artists and also assists in the roll out of established artists. Our College Marketing Representatives are well-versed in the online/social media world, organize listening events, interact closely with various campus groups and liaise with independent record stores and lifestyle shops. This is a remote, part-time role, that requires a commitment of approximately 20 hours per week. The College Marketing Representative position is a great way to learn about the music business, gain marketing experience, and get your foot in the door of one of the world's leading entertainment companies.

The Program Manager Representative is responsible for helping to facilitate and execute the yearly project initiatives that are a priority for the department, amongst other responsibilities involving department administration, Sony Music U programming and social media initiatives.

• Help facilitate and execute the execution of large scale project Initiatives that are a priority for the department
• Curate, update and develop any assigned databases, including market maps and rep profile sheets
• Assist in the marketing of Sony Music U programming
• Provide feedback and ideas on artists and/or projects on a regular basis
• Attend any required team meetings as needed
• Maintain timely communication with our New York-based management team - including day-to-day and weekly updates as agreed upon
• Maintain a professional and mature outlook in your day-to-day work, communication and behavior, understanding the need for confidentiality with certain information that is shared

• Currently enrolled as a full-time graduate student with (1) or more years left before graduation
• Previous experience as a college marketing representative for Sony Music U, possessing an initial understanding of the department structure and campaigns
• Knowledge, passion and an interest in discovering new music across all genres of music
• Have the ability to commit to working remotely at agreed work schedule and hours
• Great time management and organizational skills
• Maintain timely communication with our management team in New York City (note this is a remote position)
• Computer and cellphone are mandatory
• Proactive thinker, strong communication skills, comfortable with operating out-side-of-the-box
