DESCRIPTION:

CBS News Radio Network is seeking a strong candidate to be part of our Network Technical Support team with experience in Broadcast IT and IP systems. This person will be part of a team that will support and maintain the Network's broadcast studios, routers and transmission systems. It is crucial that the candidate has experience in IP-based audio and router systems. This position is based in our New York City Headquarters. This hands-on role requires the ability to work directly to support the work of the production and editorial staff. This is a shift-based position where you will be required to work weekends and overnights, when scheduled.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Construction, assembly, wiring and installation of electronic equipment or components for use in its broadcasting operations

Operation of technical equipment at the point of origin for CBS programs originating in the field

Maintenance and repair of systems including, but not limited to, Sierra Automated Systems (SAS) consoles, intercoms and engines; Telos phone hybrids; Comrex Access, BRIC-Links, and Opal codecs; ISDN PRIs and Zephyr codecs.

Creation of documentation and planning for modernization of newsroom facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The position requires at least 3-5 years relevant experience at a network, station or media organization or similar experience. Playing a key role in large-scale technical projects. Supporting remote broadcasts. Strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills. Person must be extremely organized and have strong computer skills, motivated, self-starter who is able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Ability to multi-task and prioritize is a necessary ability to adapt in a constantly changing 24 x 7 news environment. Previous newsroom experience a plus.
