Disney Streaming Services is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join the Developer Productivity Engineering team. Developer Productivity Engineering is a distributed group that owns internal tools used to build, deploy, and operate the services that make up Disney Streaming's products. Built for AWS with a variety of open source software, our services are used by dozens of engineering teams across the company. We strive to act as a productivity multiplier by offering our customers rich primitives for delivering their services, allowing them to focus more on product.

This position is full-time and based in our office in New York, NY/Remote.

As a Software Engineer you will build tools and services to support the containerized deployment platform at Disney Streaming. Through this orchestration platform you will support the exponential growth in Disney Streaming's product and partner portfolios. You'll also collaborate to enable and support cloud-native practices and new developer workflows.

Software Engineer responsibilities:
• Develop and deploy tools and services to automate the infrastructure and software lifecycles
• Engineer RESTful and GraphQL-based services in Go
• Ease adoption of cloud-native concepts and technologies for the wider engineering organization
• Engage with our large group of stakeholders
• Promote a collaborative environment that develops agreeableness, trust, experimentation, creativity, and innovation
• Lead and contribute to the decision-making process and technical decisions

Minimum Qualifications:
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years experience building software on *nix platforms
• You're a self-learner, independent, and have excellent problem-solving skills
• You care deeply about craftsmanship in your software, and can work backwards from the customer
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Solid understanding of Golang (Go)

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with software containers (e.g. Docker, rkt, runC) and schedulers (e.g. ECS, Kubernetes, Nomad)
• You have successfully applied immutable infrastructure patterns
• You've worked with and improved the reliability of distributed systems
• You've deployed and operated geographically distributed, redundant services
• Engagement with open source communities
