Technology - UX Interaction Designer

Job Description

The Production Technology organization is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the global animation pipeline across all feature productions at DreamWorks. Within the Production Technology organization, the User Experience (UX) team ensures a user-centered design for the software applications that make up the production pipeline. As the Interaction Designer you will be primarily focused on the research, design, and prototyping of interactions and experiences for a wide variety of the digital products relied upon by artists and developers at DreamWorks.

Responsibilities
• Develop storyboards, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design direction as well as providing UI/IX design specs
• Optimize UI patterns, interaction patterns, and information hierarchy
• Contribute to the design of the user model, end-to-end flows, and user interfaces
• Collaborate with UX, Engineers, and Artists on the development of a usable, efficient, and an overall delightful Pipeline experience
• Establish design consistency across different products

Qualifications/Requirements
• 5+ years of professional work experience with strong knowledge of UX design principles and best practices
• Ability to understand complex workflows and translate the high level ideas into interface design concepts
• Ability to demonstrate visual design sensibilities through standard design/wireframing tools
• Ability to collaborate and thrive on a cross-functional team built of designers, artists, and engineers
• Ability to pay attention to details and be a great team player

Desired Characteristics
• Understanding of web design and usability guidelines
• Experience in designing usable and efficient enterprise web applications
• Experience working with web based technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Awareness of trends in communication, collaboration, and user interface design
