Job Description

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities
• Ensure that digital video products within the Direct to Consumer Video Engineering organization have the highest quality
• Develop scripts using JavaScript, Python and other programing languages to validate manifest information
• Become a quality advocate as a member of an agile software development team
• Review requirements, specifications and technical documents to create effective test validation methods
• Partner with product owner, scrum master and agile team to identify upcoming issues and mitigate risks
• Build and execute detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases that transition into test strategies for existing and new features
• Identify ways to break the products using negative testing, report defects and validate solutions
• Execute functional and regression testing for builds on a weekly basis
• Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
• Increase test coverage and identify areas for automation
• Maintain and communicate testing schedule, timelines and test status
• Identify and clearly document defects
• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum three (3) years of professional experience in software test automation in a continuous integration and continuous deployment environment, including creation and deployment of frameworks and design and maintenance of test automation
• Minimum two (2) years testing RESTful APIs - manual and automated
• Strong at programming in at least one of the following languages: Ruby, Python, Java, C# or JavaScript
• Experience with CI process and tools (Jenkins, etc.)
• Knowledge of networking and HTTP Protocol
• Ability to track down the root cause of a defect using debugging tools
• Experience with OTT video streaming and/or testing TV devices

Eligibility Requirements
• Must be able to work nights, overtime, and on weekends with short notice
• Must be willing to work in Stamford, CT
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older
