The Job

Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. seeks a Sr. Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis for the Financial Planning & Analysis department.

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for building and analyzing budgets, forecasts and long range plans for domestic corporate departments. In addition, the Senior Financial Analyst will prepare reports for Executive leadership and offer insights with regard to trends and developments in the Corporate business unit.

The Daily
• Build and analyze budgets, forecasts, quarterly updates and long range plan.
• Collaborate with department heads to build domestic budgets based on Corporate guidance.
• Research and provide explanations for variances against plan.
• Research questions posed by corporate departments regarding their budgets/forecasts.
• Support Manager, FP&A in completion and timely delivery of all planning deliverables and outputs.
• Consolidate worldwide Corporate overhead and build reports for Executive reporting.
• Prepare and analyze cause of change and related forecast deliverables for Corporate submissions.
• Liaise/serve as point of contact for corporate departments, finance and non-finance colleagues.
• Responsible for the creation of ad-hoc reporting in Business Objects, SAP, or BW as needed and work with FP&A – Financial Systems Group to design or automate reporting.
• Prepare and analyze month-end close.
• Prepare and analyze cause of change and related close deliverables for Corporate submissions.
• Identify, investigate and resolve irregular items and work with the Corporate Accounting team to process adjusting journal entries as required.
• Prepare and distribute management reports and supplemental schedules to corporate departments.
• Manage monthly reporting to corporate departments.
• Prepare analyses to support Corporate initiatives, inquiries and ad hoc requests from management.

The Essentials
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration (required).
• CPA preferred.
• 5 or more years of relevant work experience strongly preferred.
• Management Consulting, Public Accounting and/or internal audit preferred.
• Hands-on experience with budgeting, long-term plans, and strategic decision support.
• Experience with accounting close and consolidations is preferred.
• MS Excel (proficient in using advanced macros and pivot tables).
• MS Word.
• MS PowerPoint.
• SAP (including Business Warehouse).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with finance and non-finance departments.
• Effective organizational and time management skills; ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work calmly and productively under pressure and time constraints.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Ability to take direction.
• Self motivated, flexible and high level of initiative.
• Ability to work independently and knowledge of when to communicate updates.
• Detail oriented and thorough.
