Job Description
The Design Director will lead the graphic/art department to conceptualize and execute the look and feel of multiple Deadline editorial properties, including a website, magazine and event branding. This position requires a thought-leader in design, magazine structure and storytelling, and background in designing graphics for video series and livestream events. Strong ideation and hands-on design skills are a must.

The Design Director should be comfortable working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, while balancing a wide variety of creative executions within different verticals. They will assume full ownership and responsibility for their work, including concept and ideation, stakeholder communication, visual research, creative assignments, defining and attending meetings. This is the perfect position for someone who is ready to take on a more senior role in the creation of beautiful and engaging editorial products and graphic design.

Responsibilities
• Will oversee a design department of 3 people: Senior Designer, Designer and Design Production Coordinator.
• Must work closely with designers, editors, video producers and department heads to develop original design concepts and oversee multiple projects as necessary.

Qualifications
• 6-7+ years' experience in graphic design and consumer publishing for print and on-air.
• An ability to thrive in a fast-paced and highly creative environment.
• Accomplished designer with strong attention to detail and love of type.
• Hands-on magazine and web designer. Adept at both print magazine structure and UX/UI.
• Hands-on, extensive experience in graphic design for video series, podcast series and live stream events.
• Hands-on extensive experience in graphic design of advertising & marketing print materials.
• Help nurture a team approach and a creative environment conducive to taking risks and advancing the brand in a competitive space.
• Excellent communication skills and know how to talk through editorial ideas in a lively, collaborative environment.
• Thorough knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Splash.
• An interest in entertainment and entertainment related fields.

Typical wage range: $100k - $140k

Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits. Salary Details
Salary Range: $100,000 to $140,000 Per Year ($ USD)
