Job Description
We are currently looking for a band member to join the Spotify Tax Team. This new band member will assist the Tax Team with tax compliance across Spotify's US and Canadian business entities. The role is based in our New York office and will report to the Senior Manager, Indirect Tax.

As a tax analyst, you will have an expansive tax role, and support the team in ensuring the completeness and accuracy of Spotify's US and Canada tax compliance obligations. You will work closely with global tax team members in both Stockholm and New York, and work cross functionally with various accounting and finance teams.

What You'll Do
• Prepare indirect tax filings for Spotify US and Canadian entities including but not limited to Sales Tax, Use Tax, Value Added Tax (VAT), Gross Receipts Tax, Property Tax, Regulatory Fees and similar taxes
• Prepare monthly accruals, reconciliations and journal entries.
• Support multi-state tax audits, including data collection for timely responses to information requests
• Research, track and resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise from tax notices
• Monitor and interpret tax law changes and the impact on tax positions and calculations
• Provide support to other Tax Team members on the Direct Tax and Transfer Pricing teams as needed
• Support business expansion needs, including research on tax requirements and obligations in new markets and obtaining new tax registrations and licenses

Who You Are
• 1+ years of tax related work experience in industry '
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field; CPA preferred
• Strong general accounting/finance skills and experience
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written, in order to distill tax concepts into easily comprehensible subject matter for non-tax colleagues
• Strong tax research ability using databases such as RIA, Checkpoint & CCH.
• Experience with financial systems (eg. Netsuite ERP, Coupa, Blackline, consolidation tools and management reporting tools) is a plus
• Familiarity with technology and automation with a willingness to improve processes
• Strong attention to detail, ability to drive work and process improvements
• Self-starter, capable of working independently with strong initiative and flexibility
• Intellectually curious and eager to learn and develop every day

Where You'll Be
• Hybrid role based in our New York offices (average 2 to 3 days a week required)
• Working hours? We operate within the Eastern time zone for collaboration

The United States base range for this position is $68,547.00 - $97,924.00 plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. This range encompasses multiple levels. Leveling is determined during the interview process. Placement in a level depends on relevant work history and interview performance.
