Job Description
Job Title
VP of Product, D/Cipher Platforms

About Your Role:

Dotdash Meredith seeks a VP of Product, D/Cipher Platforms, who will lead vision and strategy for our platforms and tools and both internal & partner integrations, that power our Intent Targeting solution D/Cipher. You'll focus on initiatives that expand the capabilities of the intent targeting platform and its optimal implementation across each of the Dotdash Meredith demand channels. You'll report to the SVP of Product, Advertising.

In addition to being a natural leader, our ideal candidate has a rare blend of deep familiarity with the digital media landscape, a sophisticated understanding of the programmatic ecosystem, and an innate curiosity that will inspire these teams and produce enduring value for the business. Experience with technologies including graph databases, workflow engines, ETL pipelines, and IdP systems is strongly preferred.

You will build and manage a team of 2-3 product managers and partner with the SVP & GM of D/Cipher, Research & Insights, Programmatic Monetization, Data Science, Product Marketing, product managers, design, engineering, and other relevant stakeholders to develop and execute a robust product strategy that leverages our unique capabilities: evergreen intent-based content, data science, beautiful design, and respectful monetization. You'll develop innovative tools, capabilities, and channels for Intent Targeting that emphasize the benefits of this cookieless alternative to traditional advertising methods.

About Your Contributions:
• Planning and Alignment - Develop and review your product roadmap and strategy with the GM, Research & Insights, Data Science, and other senior management team members.
• Developing Strategy - Develop a big-picture product strategy for meeting user needs, sell it, and then work out the details to get the plan over the finish line.
• Directing Work & Results - Direct your teams on multiple parallel initiatives and manage cross-dependencies between them and other shared platform teams. Congratulate your teams on the release of an awesome new product/feature.
• Cultivating Innovation - Develop new features and strategies that will help end users develop performant intent segments and allow advertisers access through multiple buying channels. Explore, pitch, and implement new features that are going to drive performance and yield.
• Financial Acumen - Understand the key performance and financial indicators of advertising across the brands and what fluctuations or volatility in those metrics could mean to the business and our systems. Use financial analysis to evaluate and prioritize strategic opportunities. Generate reports and dashboards to measure success of initiatives.
• Tech Savvy - Evaluate demand sources to decide who we will partner with in the most optimal way for our sites, advertisers, and end users. Drive competitor and vendor discovery and conduct ''build vs. buy'' analyses.
• Collaborating - Coordinate with fellow Product Managers and Technology Leaders on the sequence of cross-team initiatives. Lead conversations and efforts to make our intent targeting tools as fast and efficient as possible to provide for a great user experience.
• Managing Complexity - Conduct studies of end-users using your applications and analyze what's working and what's not. Analyze the user flow and define features that help end-users take action and optimize segment performance.
• Optimizing Work Processes - Facilitate process definition and define business rules by partnering with internal teams responsible for media planning, sales activation, campaign optimization, and post-sales campaign analytics and performance measurement. A/B test optimizations to drive yield and campaign performance.
• Communicating Effectively - Walk an engineer and a designer through product requirements. Partner with Ad Solutions to teach the revenue operations, sales, and campaign analytics teams how to use new features.
• Developing Talent & Building Effective Teams - Mentor and coach product managers on your team.

Qualifications:
• 10+ years of hands-on product management-strategy, analysis, and day-to-day product ownership and ideation.
• At least three (3) years of management experience of other product managers.
• You have a deep understanding of the digital ad serving, programmatic, and measurement technology ecosystem (e.g. SSPs, DSPs, Header Bidding, DMPs, etc.)
• ''Platform thinking'' is part of your DNA. You naturally build for scale and reuse, always thinking ahead to the longer-term.
• You have deep knowledge of what makes for great media planning and campaign optimization experiences because you've done this before, e.g. experience at a premium, digital publisher, ad tech platform, or digital media buying agency.
• You possess an innate desire to collect, synthesize, and analyze data to inform your strategy.
• You have excellent data analysis and data-driven decision making skills, familiarity with building revenue models. You have strong prioritization skills and experience applying them in the development of a product roadmap.
• You have a passion for figuring out -- and resolving -- user problems and pain points.
• You're able to juggle the needs of multiple stakeholder groups and develop strategic product plans for each of them.
• You're excellent at communicating and collaborating with a wide range of teams and stakeholders to build great products.
• You're fluent in Agile principles and methodology.
