Business Unit: Deluxe Cinema

Deluxe Cinema is responsible for the mastering and distribution of digital content to theaters on behalf of major cinema studio clients. These responsibilities are inclusive of a variety of content services including digital cinema mastering, 2D and 3D subtitling, format validation, and social media transcoding and fulfillment. The group also manages both electronic and physical distribution of digital cinema and non-digital cinema assets to theaters. The group is responsible for a variety delivery support functions such asset tracking, archiving, delivery network management, digital cinema key management and distribution, and a 24/365 exhibitor support call center. The group's goal is to advance technology within the theatrical content mastering and delivery space to stay ahead of our clients' ever-evolving distribution needs.

Role: QA Engineer, Cinema Engineering

We are looking for a motivated team member to join us as a QA Engineer. In this position you will be responsible for ensuring software quality through the development and execution of software test plans based upon software and system specifications. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated worker with attention to detail and a hunger to learn and solve problems.

Duties:
• Coordinate with project management and the development team to develop a strong understanding of the overall system and testing objectives
• Build and/or maintain automation frameworks and scripts to improve testing efficiency and coverage
• Create and automate test plans and test specifications
• Investigate and debug issues, conduct root cause analysis
• Create test plans and document detailed functional and usability test cases for each deliverable
• Develop and maintain a repository of both manual and automated test cases for smoke, regression, and data integrity testing
• Execute automated test scripts, research test run failures, and report defects and results
• Anticipate, identify, log, and track issues as they arise and communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to QA , Dev, Project management
• Review design documentation to ensure that requirements stated are clear and verifiable

Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in quality assurance or software testing roles, with a focus on automated testing
• Demonstrated experience with current software languages, application code designs and patterns, writing in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#
• Experience with test management tools and automation frameworks
• Experience using Postman or similar tools for API functional and automated testing
• Detailed knowledge of one or more test frameworks (NUnit, XUnit, Playwright, Cypress, Jest, TestNG, etc.)
• Experience with document databases (MongoDB, etc.)
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a team environment
• Experience maintaining automated testing suites, ensuring they function seamlessly as applications evolve
• Ability to work remotely and unaided when out of team time zones
Other Desired Knowledge and Experience
• Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, TeamCity, etc.)
• Exposure to cloud development (AWS preferred, but anything is a plus)
• Basic usage of Docker
• Knowledge of or experience with Kafka

This role is based in Los Angeles, California and the base pay range for this role is $127,000 - $150,000 annually. Actual amounts will vary depending on education, skills, experience, and geographic location.
