Senior Front-End Engineer

Job Description

Disney Streaming Services in Amsterdam is looking for a talented Front-end engineer to join a team that creates large-scale, highly-performant web applications. This team transforms large, complex datasets into fast and responsive user interfaces used by millions of people.

As a Sr. Front-end Software Engineer, you will help us push the boundaries of what is possible on the client. You'll work with a team of diverse developers alongside systems engineers, services engineers and project managers.

If you are highly proficient in JavaScript, HTML and CSS; appreciate the details that make a user experience exceptional; and demonstrate enthusiasm for new technologies, languages, frameworks, and platforms, then we would love to speak with you!
What you'll do:
• Implement web interfaces and applications using JavaScript (ES6+), HTML and CSS.
• Work on a modern stack including React, NodeJS, and Amazon Web Services.
• Ensure code quality through test-driven development.
• Distill product requirements into design and technical specifications.
• Drive conversations with other engineering, product, and marketing teams to define and execute on product requirements.
• Mentoring and helping to level up other engineers.

Your background:
• 7+ years of experience building complex, highly usable web applications.
• In-depth experience in a NodeJS application development environment.
• Experience working within a modern JavaScript workflow through technologies such as GitHub, CSS Preprocessors, Styled Components, Single Page Application frameworks and Module Bundlers (Webpack, etc.)
• Experience setting and/or expanding engineering best practices.
• Comfortable evaluating and taking calculated risks adopting new technologies.
• Experience with streaming video, e-commerce, large data applications, and analytics suites.
• Hands-on experience with React/Redux in a production application.
