Quality Assurance Engineer / Tester

Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to drive quality and quality-related development work related to Sinclair's Rights Management solution. You will work alongside a highly creative and motivated group of individuals building high quality technology solutions to support our business operations. You will provide input into test strategies, document areas for improvement in design, and assist in corrective action in all stages of the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
• Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of deliverables.
• Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing efforts across multiple projects
• Develop and maintain test plans, test cases and test scripts.
• Design and implement software testing solutions via automated and manual means
• Backend database testing in Microsoft SQL environment including validating stored procedures, jobs and triggers.
• Identify, document and track bugs. Collaborate with development team and business to troubleshoot issues.
• Act as a customer advocate within the development team. Ensure projects meet customer requirements and objectives.
• Mentor junior QA engineers on day to day operations.
• Champion a culture of quality within the organization.

Required Experience / Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years application testing experience
• Experience in both front and back-end testing
• Proficient knowledge of SQL and demonstrated ability to query and validate data sets.
• Experience writing and maintaining automated test scripts.
• Experience testing custom APIs and integrations.
• Strong communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Self-directed and motivated.

Preferred Experience / Skills:
• Demonstrated experience writing automated test scripts from scratch leveraging Selenium and Java/C#
• Experience testing applications written in various programming languages.
• Experience using the following tools:
o Azure DevOps
o Jenkins
o Visual Studio / Git
o ServiceNow
