Multimedia Journalist (MMJ)

NTV News (KHGI/KFXL) is looking for a Multimedia Journalist to serve in a variety of ways. This is an opportunity to be a true backpack journalist. Your responsibilities as an MMJ will include reporting, shooting and editing news stories, enterprising story ideas, developing contacts, making beat calls, investigating and finding truly impactful stories in the city of Lincoln. This unique role will also require you to cover high school sports on Friday nights for our sports Extra program and the Nebraska Huskers! You will be expected to produce daily content on ALL platforms - Digital first and distinctive on each. You will be expected to turn multiple stories a day across all our platforms so if you're not up for this challenge, please don't apply. We have high expectations for this role.

Skills and Experience:
• Sharp news judgment
• The ability to tell an NPPA style story - great writing and great shooting/editing... a true visual storyteller.
• Excellent technical skills and troubleshooting skills
• The ability to work well independently and on a team.
• Fantastic people skills and a great personality are a must!
• Must have and maintain a valid license and a good driving record

Requirements and Qualifications:
• A minimum of 2 years reporting experience is required
• Experience with live shots is required
• Experience with Live-U, Avid editing and iNews is a plus
