Job Description

DESCRIPTION:

The Technical Project Manager will oversee the planning, design, development, launch and ongoing management of hardware, software, and SaaS products and platforms that encompass the CBS Marketing technology stack. The stack includes editorial platforms, graphic and print design platforms, DAM services, MAM platforms, intranets and more. The Technical Project Manager is responsible for managing new product execution from inception to completion.
• Responsible for the creation and execution of project plans across multiple technology projects, including hardware installations, software deployments, migration efforts and then ongoing management of completed projects.
• Manage scope, work estimates, workback schedules, change requests, and the overall organization of project documentation to ensure end user success.
• Prepare and present roadmaps to keep team and management aligned on goals and timelines.
• Work with internal technology team to execute against requirements.
• Utilize Agile SCRUM methodology to manage projects in our Atlassian toolset.
• Groom backlog and manage sprint planning.
• Act as SCRUM Master as needed.
• Manage workflow and process among internal teams, external development partners, and clients.
• Schedule meetings, manage agendas, document notes, and capture action items as necessary to ensure clear communication.
• Work closely with the VP, Technology and Production and the Director of Technology to track project status to clear roadblocks in order to keep the Technology team focused on moving projects forward.
• Effectively communicate the goals of the end users and our solutions through excellent presentation skills.
• ‪Identify potential project risks, schedule changes, roadblocks, etc. in advance, communicate implications to the team and make recommendations for solutions.
• ‪Establish and keep track of all specs for all deliverables.
• ‪QA/QC all products and establish bug tracking logs.
• Maintain an understanding of the talents of the technology team and our partners in order to capitalize on those talents as needed to drive projects forward.
• ‪Help internal team identify additional talent when necessary.
• ‪Be a partner in optimizing departmental processes as we grow.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Work Experience:
• 3-5 years in a similar role desired.
• Proven project management experience.
• Demonstrate effective management of multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience in broadcasting, streaming, media or advertising desired.
• Bachelor's degree in Project management, Computer science or related field strongly desired. Equivalent practical experience may mitigate preference for degree.

Knowledge/Skills:
• Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise class project management tools required.
• Familiarity with Atlassian toolset strongly desired.
• Comfortable working in Agile SCRUM and willing to evangelize when necessary.
• Good understanding of TV production and post production concepts and technology.
• Appreciation of diverse perspectives and approaches to solve problems.
• Willing to embrace change but recognize the challenges and are willing to engage in change management to ensure success.
• Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to gather, analyze, interpret and apply a wide range of data.
