The Role
The Cloud Financial Management and Analytics role reports into the Cloud Cost Management team within GT&O. The team is responsible for overseeing large and critical investments in multi-cloud environment around the globe – offering advisory services, cost modeling and strategic analysis, executive and financial reporting, and cost governance and optimization
Job Description
Key Tasks:
The Cloud Financial Mgmt. and Analytics Manager will be a critical member of the team working directly with our cloud clients, leadership, and vendors:
• Pull and aggregate data from various sources (cloud vendors, monitoring tools, CDN, Cloud CMDB..etc) to build complex multi-source reports serving diverse set of clients ranging from executives to engineers
• Maintain key data sources in the data lake and ensure changes to the data structure is kept up to date
• Perform QA process to ensure data integrity by comparing loaded data against incoming invoices
• Provide strong analytical skills to recognize and evaluate data patterns/outliers and derive insightful knowledge that can inform strategic and operational decisions
• Work directly with cloud clients, accounting, and finance to help them understand cloud cost impacts
• Work with Cloud engineers to understand triggers/changes that can influence spend projections
• Interface with vendors’ Technical Account Managers (TAMs) to resolve any roadblocks
• Review vendor invoices for accuracy of billed services. Escalate and resolve abnormalities
• Govern active projects to monitor business as usual vs. growth/intake consumption to control cost deviations
• Participate in business case development and cost modeling exercises
• Work with executive leadership to support their inquiries
Qualifications Description
Candidate should have:
• Deep analytical/reporting skills, strong knowledge in data structure, and financial acumen
• Expertise in data visualization tools such as power bi
• Basic knowledge in SQL queries and familiarity with Amazon Aurora, and PostgresSQL
• Knowledge in Python and API queries is a plus
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, Azure, and Akamai tools/services– such as Cost Explorer, Cost and Usage Reports, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, Sustained Use Discounts/Committed and other cloud cost mechanics
• Experience in consulting or a client facing role
• Leader and a team player with transformation mindset
• Strong organizational, task, and project management skills
• Self-driven and able to work across diverse technical and non-technical teams
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to operate successfully in a lean, agile, and fast-paced organization
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States
Continued Qualifications
• BS degree in Computer Science or Business; MS preferred
• +5 years of relevant work experience at a large-scale global company
This position is partially remote- geographical presence near Silver Spring, Maryland or Knoxville, TN is preferred
