Senior Software Engineer - Content Data Science Products

As Netflix continues to grow - we are leveraging the unique position we have as both a content distributor and producer to create a suite of data science tools to support key decisions for our content and marketing teams.

We are currently looking for an engineer with 5+ years of experience in software engineering and data analytics to help deliver insights to a variety of creative and business stakeholders. You would be responsible for owning and scaling the layer between an increasing suite of machine learning models and a number of different frontend applications serving a variety of users.

You can expect to:
• Work with the research teams, analytics engineers and application developers to develop a suite of tools that will be used to communicate data-science generated insights to a variety of users throughout the company.
• Understand and implement complex sets of business rules and calculations using a variety of data sources including ML-generated outputs.
• Work closely with the data engineers building and maintaining our data warehouse, as well as the data scientists and analysts creating our predictive models, optimizations and core metrics.

You Are:
• An expert with ''big data'': SparkSQL, Presto, Hive, etc.
• Passionate about creating replicable, scalable, systems around data and analytics. You think modularly and create robust, reusable patterns and components whenever possible.
• Experienced with microservice architecture software as a service. You have a lot of experience with backend engineering work and can create and maintain RESTful services.
• Extremely comfortable in a variety of programming languages including Python, and Javascript/NodeJS.
• Highly analytical, but maximizing for impact. You have a high level of expertise in SQL and you're very familiar with data science techniques, but you are primarily interested in how data should be used to solve business questions.
