Pipeline TD - Layout / Animation

We are currently looking for a Pipeline TD – Layout/Animation for our upcoming Netflix animated film!

The Pipeline TD – Layout/Animation will be involved and responsible for pipeline development and support. Ultimately, this role is ensuring the optimization of the workflow of the Performance departments which include Assembly, Layout, Animation and Edit.

The following will be highly regarded:
• 3 years minimum working on animated features or VFX projects
• Proven pipeline TD experience in large scale animated features, animated TV series and/or VFX feature films or an academic environment
• Competent using and troubleshooting Maya in the animation domain
• Experience with a large facility pipeline
• An understanding of traditional animation and layout techniques
• An understanding of pixar USD and its general concepts
• Experience using Linux in production
• Programming experience in C++ a bonus
• Experience with Houdini, Nuke, AVID, Baselight is a bonus
• Degree in Computer Science, Design, Engineering, Maths or Physics or equivalent combination of education & work experience in animation/VFX

The following is required of all candidates:
• A comprehensive understanding of the 3D animation pipelines and the applicable tools
• Solid knowledge in Python and PyQt
• Knowledge of code management software such as git and github
• Knowledge of software development practices such as agile and how to apply them in software such as Jira
• Knowledge of concepts like data flow, data dependencies, Meta data, publishing and retrieval
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow through on solutions
• Ability to code review and troubleshoot problems as they arise
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve
• Ability to work within a strong team environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
