Responsibilities

Noticiero Telemundo Chicago (WSNS-TV) is looking for an experienced and dynamic news producer to work along an enthusiastic news team and contribute to all news-related projects. The news producer will be proactive and have ownership of content on all platforms including, but not limited to news of the day, special coverage, in-depth stories, breaking news, severe weather coverage, etc.

JOB DUTIES:
• Responsible for the overall production, timing, information and writing of content on all platforms
• Knowledgeable on daily news events, keep up with current events and awareness of what is news in the Chicago market
• Must en sure accuracy, integrity, ethical values and balance of news content
• Respond to breaking news with urgency and accuracy and have good time-management skills.
• Incorporate strategies for growth on broadcast and digital platforms
• Work closely with fellow producers, executive producer and news director
• Work directly with talent to ensure accurate and engaging content
• Contribute story ideas; participate in daily coverage decisions, editorial meetings, special coverage and breaking news
• Stack the rundown and line produce the on-air broadcast flawlessly from control room
• Produce news stories and specials as assigned
• Write content for on air and digital as well as copy-edit reporter scripts

Qualifications/Requirements
• B.A. in Journalism or related field
• Must be able to speak, read and write fluently in Spanish
• Solid English speaking and writing skills
• Minimum 3 years of News Producer experience
• Strong line-producing skills is a must
• Excellent news judgment, creative ideas and writing skills a must
• Must have leadership qualities, be detail oriented, organized and able to perform under intense deadline pressure
• Work a flexible schedule to produce morning, evening and/or weekend newscasts

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be willing to work in Chicago
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have a valid driver's license
