It's an amazing time to join the Netflix Communications team, a seasoned group of professionals whose job is critical to building on the company's success and reinforcing its reputation in a fast-changing, complex, and competitive global landscape. We tell compelling stories about Netflix, working closely with business development, marketing, product, content, editorial and publishing, and other groups to infuse these stories with their efforts.

The Role

The Communications Manager will help build and reinforce the Netflix reputation and its service in Korea, focusing on product and a wide range of business issues, with deep local insights. She/he will manage product/partnership announcements and direct thought leadership around Netflix technology, culture, and business matters.

Reporting to the Director of Communications for Korea, the role is required to have strong cross-functional interactions with a strong ability to socialize and contextualize business implications. This individual will be a key partner to Business Development, Product, Marketing, Employer Branding, Editorial & Publishing, as well the PR teams based in the region and other locations.

The candidate must:
• Have at least 7 years of experience in PR (in-house or agency settings) -- preferably with experience in the media, technology or agency sector
• Have a global mindset and strong business acumen, preferably with experience of working for transcultural environments
• Understand Korea's media and competition landscape
• Have excellent judgment as well as very strong writing and communication skills
• Love entertainment and possess the prospect of delivering stories from all over the world to people all over the world
• Have - or is able to build - a strong network of relationships with journalists
• Be an all-rounder with an ability to work cross-functionally and build relationships inside and outside the organization across different time zones
• Be able to serve as a company spokesperson
• Be adept at brand reputation and media issues management
• Be a self-starter who comes up with new approaches and is eager to try those out new/innovative campaigns
• Has a strong bias-to-action and can change course, be scrappy and get things done on short timeframes

• An independent thinker with the ability for innovation and new ideas, making the leap from information to insight
• Succinct communicator and great writer (we love debates and memos)
• Flourishes in a 'hands-on' role, adding value at different levels. Is strong in detail and highly organized.
