Job Description

We are looking for a technical editor to produce A/V ads, who is also interested in using their specialized skills and experience in helping build new workflows, partnering with engineers to enhance our tool infrastructure, and optimizing the overall editorial production process. Someone in this role would exercise a high degree of creativity in concepting, innovating and/or optimizing technical workflows and digital products. While this role is focused on editing, our editing responsibilities are more technical than narrative.

Utilizing skills as an editor, a Growth Ops Production Specialist is primarily responsible for facilitating A/V production for Growth Marketing ads. In addition to this, these Specialists ensure holistic production fulfillment by executing various project requirements (such as asset farming, localization, and QC management), providing test support, managing asset upkeep & iteration, and supervising external vendors and timelines.

While serving as a specialized expert of editorial / AV production, the Growth Ops Production Specialist is a critical component of the Growth team at large. Their investment in producing and enhancing advertisement units is integral to the *growth* of Netflix's subscriber base.

Requirements:
• Minimum 3 years of industry experience in editing and finishing content for broadcast or advertising.
• Considerable knowledge of A/V production workflows, particularly short-form or promotional content like trailers, ad units, etc.
• Deep experience and proficiency with Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop.
• Experience in Final Cut, ProTools, Avid, and Visual Effects tools are a plus.
• Knowledgeable around A/V Video formats (ProRes, H.264) and Artwork (PSD, JPEG, PNG)
• Superior project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize projects from various teams in a timely manner.
• Experience with working within Digital Asset Management Systems, and archival processes.
• Knowledge of localization processes (i.e. creation of subtitles and dubbed audio)
• A team player with a calm demeanor to deal with last-second requests and projects. Able to deal with quick 180° shifts to original plans.
• Strong passion, excellent communicator (verbal and written), bias-toward-impact.
• Familiarity of best-practices and specs for advertising on social channels like: Youtube, Facebook, Instagram.
• Creative know-how: ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with creative stakeholders, but also translate requirements to the operational team.
• Media, Ad Ops or Entertainment industry background (studio, creative agency, etc.) preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Proactively watch for incoming asset orders weekly via tools, trackers, and requests from internal partners
• Produce all necessary ad units on a weekly basis, utilizing internal tools and industry editing programs
• Monitor and update production tools, spreadsheets and other trackers
• Perform a degree of technical QC on required assets
• Interface with external vendors to manage the fulfillment of additional ad units
• Interface with internal engineering teams to aid in tooling enhancements and productizations
• Manage team data and technical documentation (e.g. creating and updating tech specs)
• Fulfill asset management needs (file sourcing, tracking, uploading/ingesting, replacing, updating, general maintenance) for Growth Marketing projects.
• Manage localization processes when needed
• Optimize editorial processes. One prior example: implementing a universal audio normalization standard for Growth Marketing ads.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Growth Marketing peers to troubleshoot asset and tool issues
• Support testing for new ad types or experiences
