Job Description

Responsibilities
• Supervises and oversees the editorial vision of future shows' news segments & packages
• Plans content for future segments, specials, breaking news
• Works in conjunction with the Assignment Desk team to analyze the daily correspondent & package requests
• Works closely with the News Gathering team and the other Producers of News shows in an effort to create content for newscasts and news segments
• Works closely with Network News leadership team in planning and executing segments for newscast and news segments
• Develops and supervises segments within newscasts such as medical, health, immigration, financial, investigative, etc.
• Maintains list of experts/guests in different areas of expertise
• Writes and/or Copy Edits scripts for segments and specials
• Works with NBC in maximizing use of their content (specials, projects)
• Works with Promotions, affiliates and other shows to promote network news content in a creative way to maximize audience
• Plans and coordinates remote shoots for special coverages
• Coordinates with Affiliates for special series and segments to better utilize content (including sweeps)
• Works with talent in preparation for important interviews
• Responsible for graphic look of specials, segments and series, working with Content Producers & Graphics Department
• Works under the direct supervision of the VP, News Gathering and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of experience in live television (i.e. morning shows, cable shows, broadcast TV, etc.)
• Minimum 2 years of managerial experience
• Minimum 4 years as a News Producer or similar role
• Must be fully fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal)
• Minimum 1 year of working experience with iNews

Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY
• Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice (if applicable)
• Must have a valid driver's license (if applicable)
• Must be ''on call'' 24 hours a day / 7 days a week (if applicable)
• Must be able to provide a reel/portfolio of work examples -- if available, include a web address when you submit your resume (if applicable)
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program

• Proven solid writing skills and editorial judgment
• Ability to recognize stories with high potential for provocative, compelling television
• Demonstrated strong knowledge of the Hispanic market in the United States
• Exhibits knowledge of current events, politics and pop culture.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, dead-line driven environment
• Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization
• Demonstrated self-starter with a highly developed rolodex of contacts within TV industry highly preferred
• Creative and highly organized
• Detail oriented
• Knowledge of non-linear editing and shooting workflow
• Experience being actively engaged in editorial processes and meetings
