Job Description

Responsibilities
The Finance Director, Credit and Collections will lead the Owned TV Stations' West Coast Credit and Collections Team. The ideal candidate will embody the NBCUniversal values of integrity, creativity, teamwork, pioneering spirit and ownership. They should confidently participate in team discussions, actively listen and provide insights and recommendations. In addition to supervising a team of approximately five, this individual is responsible for billing, credit and collections for a subset of the Owned TV Stations' & Regional Sports Networks' Ad Sales Receivables. This position reports to the Vice President of Finance, Credit & Collections.

General Responsibilities
• Perform credit evaluations on new customers.
• Monitor existing customers' adherence to payment terms and/or changes in financial stability and re-evaluate credit terms accordingly.
• Support NBC Owned TV Stations and Regional Sports Sales and Finance organizations on credit and collections policies and procedures.
• Monitor, maintain and reconcile receivable portfolio to increase cash flow and minimize company's exposure to bad debt.
• Enforce payment terms and meet cash goals and Days Sales Outstanding targets.
• Forecast cash receipts on a monthly basis.
• Facilitate the resolution of discrepancies with customer and Sales.
• Actively participate in Sales meetings to help drive receivable performance improvements across the business.
• Authorize additions and changes to customer records in Wide Orbit traffic system.
• Collaborate with Sales and Traffic Departments to ensure accuracy of pre-billing data, reconcile billing reports to stations' logs, generate billing interface to SAP A/R and support Finance with accurate revenue recognition.
• Coordinate with outside collection agencies.
• Various special projects and ad-hoc assignments.

Supervisory Responsibilities
• Provide regular and candid feedback to each direct report including annual performance evaluations.
• Hire, support, coach and develop team members; provide career guidance and afford training opportunities.

Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree required with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting or Media preferred.
• Supervisory experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Wide Orbit Traffic and SAP or demonstrated ability to adapt to new systems.
• Must be willing to work in San Jose or San Francisco, CA.
• Some travel required.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
