Position at Industrial Light & Magic

The Lighting Supervisor works with their team of lighters to create beautiful sequences that support the creative vision of the director. They work with the CG Supe to define the lighting pipeline as well as set up the rendering and shader network parameters.

We are looking for a leader who reflects the creative talent and passion for great filmmaking that define ILM.

What you’ll do
• Design and create complicated lighting setups and rigs
• Light complex/multiple creatures and elements
• Work closely with your crew to help them grow as artists

What we’re looking for
• Ability to write/hack procedural, volumetric shaders and surface shaders with proficiency
• Katana knowledge and experience along with solid compositing ability
• Superlative presentation/communication skills to clearly and briefly outline what has been accomplished by your crew without ego
• Excellent aesthetic eye, anticipating potential problems and using technical know-how to achieve the desired look
• You probably have 8 or more years production experience or feature film experience with lighting work
• You have a Bachelor's Degree in film, computer science, computer graphics or related OR you have gained that experience by working in our industry
