JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible to assist with the supervision of News department personnel, including recruiting, training, discipline, evaluations, etc. Responsible to assist with the oversight of 64.5 hours of news content per week. Responsible to assist with the oversight of station's News content and News production on Q13fox.com, as well as, the creation and coordination of news social media and multi-platform news presence. Assist with the creation of show formats and distinctive content strategies for a wide variety of program time periods (morning, evening, sports, politics, etc.) Work closely with Creative Services to develop and coordinate promotional News campaigns and topical news coverage. Work with Fox News Channel and other Fox entities regarding News content. Help develop and coordinate news content designed to grow audience. Must have strong knowledge of social media and be able to incorporate and showcase content from multiple platforms into newscast.
Have exceptional news judgment, strong writing and copy editing abilities. We are looking for a competitor who can challenge the staff to perform at their highest levels every night. Must be able to work in fast-paced environment under specific time constraints. Must be able to think out of the box and find new ways to present information. Must be self-motivated and effectively work independently and on a team. Bachelor's degree in Journalism or Communications and four years recent experience in a newsroom as a senior news producer or executive producer. Weekends, holidays and varied hours required.
