Weekend Meteorologist

Job Description

WPDE ABC 15 is looking for a Weekend AM Meteorologist. You will present the weather forecast for our 2-hour weekend morning newscast and assist/fill in for our Chief Meteorologist 3 days a week. As a Meteorologist, you will be responsible for the content of the weather cast on-air and on our digital platforms. You must be able to utilize social media during serve weather, as well as write weather stories. Candidates should be able to demonstrate through a broadcast reel his or her ability to deliver weather information in a clear, concise, conversational manner.

Job Responsibilities:
• Issue warnings and alerts

• Produce graphics and maps

• Report live during weather events

• Forecast, produce, and present clear and concise weather casts - which tell a story and connect with viewers

• Develop content and graphics for on-air, web and social media

• Make public appearances on behalf of the station

• Work with producers to determine relevant weather content in breaking and everyday situations

• Live shots and reporting from community events and in breaking news

Experience:
• 2-4 years experience broadcasting weather for a commercial TV news operation

• Degree in Meteorology is preferred

• Experience sharing weather information through the web and social media is a plus
