Your Mission

Activision is currently looking for a Lead Writer to join the franchise editorial team. This person will support our long-form content editorial calendars across the Call of Duty and Emerging Franchise properties, sharing the latest information to fans everywhere as they play our games.

Can you hold your own in Warzone, team-up for a match of Black Ops multiplayer or play with your favorite Bandicoot in a game of Crash? If you're a strong writer with high energy, a deep knowledge of Activision's iconic franchises and you're ready to work with a collaborative team of gamers then this is for you!

Here's what we're looking for:

Lead effective communications in service of our franchises to Activision fans worldwide.
• Ability to rapidly craft accurate prose in a variety of forms, including (but not limited to):
• official announcements
• deep tactical and strategic dives
• overviews of maps, modes, and more
• weapons details with a mil-sim degree of authenticity
• interviews with development teams
• strategy guides
• Create and drive long-form editorial and social content. If there are words involved, you're likely to be a part of the decision-making, writing and approval processes.
• Possess excellent writing and communication skills and a chameleon-like voice that can effectively reach audiences.
• Work with a variety of individuals across Activision's publishing teams as well as development studios to ensure accuracy of content.
• Support localization coordination of Editorial content, if needed.
• Learn and become familiar on a multitude of gameplay aspects within our game franchises.
• Have the agility to work independently, on deadline while managing inputs from stakeholders.
• Know the benefits of dropping into Superstore instead of the Gora Dam. Learn how to pull off a Darkside Grind or a 900 in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2. Then figure out what type of editorial content would make sense to share with players.
• Play Activision games.
• Stay on top of the latest engagement tools and trends for continual improvement.

• Considerable knowledge of the Call of Duty League, including players, influencers, streamers, and other personalities in this realm.
