Job Description

Recently, we strategically acquired 23 Regional Sports Networks (RSNs) and we are looking for team members to join us in integrating this new and important piece of our business that will expand our range of content across the country and extend our multi-platform expansion opportunities. We are looking for a strong technical candidate to provide key input for the integration and operation of the RSN Media Operations Center. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering strategic technology initiatives that align with various departments within the RSN Media Operations Center and overseeing the day-to-day technical aspects necessary to run the RSN Media Operations Center.

Responsibilities:
Operations, Collaboration & Partnerships
• Proactively and productively collaborate across all levels and departments within the RSN Media Operations Center to strategize and deliver technology initiatives aligned with business initiatives
• Set, manage and report on the long- and short-range planning of projects for RSN Media Operations Center departments such as Engineering, On-Air, TOC, Ingest, Distribution and the overarching technology initiatives for the RSN Media Operations Center
• Supervise all technical aspects of the installation, maintenance, repair and replacement of equipment necessary to run the RSN Media Operations Center
• Set, manage and report on financial planning for new capital equipment purchases on a yearly basis, including completion of capital purchase requests and submissions of PO's for maintenance and equipment
• Guide the technical support of field and control room equipment that supports remote truck productions and ''at home'' based productions
• Oversee IP transmission fiber networks
• Orchestrate and oversee engineering support of 3rd party service provider technical broadcast systems including SMPTE 2110, Imagine, Arista, RTS, archive systems
• Set, oversee and manage software standards including requirements for recurring software updates in line with Sinclair Data Network directives for IT security
• Coordinate and schedule broadcast equipment preventative and demand maintenance in conjunction with 3rd party service provider
• Manage annual support agreements

• Constantly evaluate technology in use and available in the market; identify new technology opportunities and creative ways to improve technology use
• Identify continuous improvement initiatives and opportunities to unlock new possibilities through adoption of new technologies, automation, and digitalization

People Management & Development
• Thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment, possess a high level of intellectual curiosity, and demonstrate strong judgment in the face of ambiguity

Qualifications:
• 10+ years of relevant broadcast industry work experience
• 6+ years senior management experience
• B.S. required, B.S. in Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer science preferred
• Must be knowledgeable in all areas of technical production and familiar with all production equipment
• Must have strong knowledge of IP Network related broadcast equipment and good understanding of SMPTE 2110 suite of standards
• Understanding of storage and archive systems including cloud-based storage and workflows
• Experience with financial management and financial reporting
• Experience with live sports integration required
• Participation in organizations such as SMPTE and Video Services Forum preferred
• Outstanding interpersonal/management skills are required
• Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies
