Responsibilities
Role Purpose
Manager, Technical Logistics – Transportation will provide key administrative and operational support of Sports and Olympic projects and assist with the planning and execution of all shipping and logistical functions for domestic and international events and projects. This position will primarily manage the transportation and logistical needs for NBC Sports Groups domestic production, while still logistically supporting NBC Sports Group international events when necessary. In this position, administrative assistance is of key importance to event logistics including financials, customs documentation, asset management, and overall production operations support. The position will report to the Senior Manager, Technical Logistics.

Responsibilities
• Coordinate domestic and international shipping and logistical services for NBC Sports and Olympics in the areas of broadcast and production equipment, supplies and services
• Analyze transportation strategies, networks, data and information relating to logistics, transportation and inventory control
• Understand country specific requirements and custom regulations, internal and external customer specific requirements, regulatory requirements, and related functions that provide the required customer service levels and processes to attain project service goals
• Coordinate the expediting and the receiving process of all NBC Sports Purchase Orders in the internal asset management system through vendor communication, order track and trace, as well as internal customer coordination to ensure purchase orders are completed in full and on time for final processing
• Plan, book, track, and coordinate domestic and international shipments across multiple carriers and modes of transportation as well as produce and manage the appropriate documentation for above logistical tasks
• Coordinate domestic and international trade compliance procedures and adherence including customs import/export compliance as well as internal audit compliance
• Lead distribution and transportation related customer issues and resolutions
• Be available to work and answer phone calls and emails outside of regular business hours, as logistical support for sport broadcasts productions require

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management or related field
• Minimum three (3) years' experience working in transportation and freight logistics

Additional Qualifications
• Proficiency in MS windows and MS Office
• Proven working knowledge and understanding of Customs procedures requirements
• Proven experience coordinating domestic and international airfreight and ocean freight shipments
• Strong analytical, technical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
• IATA Compliance-Hazmat Hazardous and dangerous goods handling certified
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to interact effectively at multiple levels in support of customer relationships
• Ability to meet strict time frames in environments with zero tolerance for failure
