DESCRIPTION:
The Customer Operations Group is looking for a Manager, preferably with a minimum of three to five years of experience to support the group's efforts in coordinating and facilitating all elements of operations support for Simon & Schuster's customers. Reporting to the head of the Customer Operations group, this position's responsibilities are to support the group in all customer dealings, including:
• Identifies process improvements & troubleshoots internal and key customer operational issues
• Acts as project coordinator for operational projects that involve cross functional teams
• Facilitates internal and key customer operational meetings
• Creates financial analyses & financial forecasts to be shared with the business office and senior management
• Acts as the liaison between sales, warehouse operations and customer base on compliance & supply chain related issues and initiatives
• Works with legal and sales to review customer agreements and sales terms
• Manages cooperative advertising policies and communicates these to the organization
• Acts as the liaison with sales and the customer financial services team on cooperative advertising fund allocation and related questions
• Supports and provides analyses for special projects as needed
• Works with IT group on special projects as needed
• Assists international offices with special projects as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Three to five year work experience preferred; experience working with large retailers as a vendor preferred; book industry experience a plus; detail oriented with strong interpersonal & computer skills; ability to multi-task & handle a diverse range of issues; Strong Microsoft Excel skills required; Access, IBM Cognos and basic SQL a plus; BA/BS required. The ideal candidate is naturally inquisitive, a problem solver and develops the ability to work independently.
