Job Description
Assist news producer in putting the newscasts together. Responsibilities include writing news stories; directing the editing of videotaped stories for broadcasts; and logging video feeds. The writer also must learn the responsibilities of the associate producer and program producer so as to be prepared to produce a program as needed.
College degree or equivalent related experience preferred. Prefer candidate have at least 1-3 years experience in broadcast or print journalism. Producing experience a plus. Working familiarity with Electronic News Gathering (ENG) and Satellite news Gathering (SNG) operations. Effective writing, good organizational and communication skills. Stays informed on current affairs. Can perform duties and make decisions under extreme pressure. Must be capable of interacting positively and productively with others.
