Job Description

Hearst's Enthusiast Group (Runner's World, Bicycling, Popular Mechanics) is seeking a senior test editor for Bicycling. This position will direct, create, and edit cycling-related gear content across all channels of Bicycling and through any cycling-related spaces within the Enthusiast Group. This position serves as the primary gear- and tech-relevant interface with endemic industries, working to get exclusive and in-depth coverage of the most-important and most-influential products. Using search, commerce, and audience insights, plus other available data, you will plan and execute industry- and sport-leading editorial and other gear-related initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring sufficiently deep knowledge, experience, and acumen in the cycling space; you will be a bike-gear clairvoyant who knows about or identifies new products, tech, and trends before anyone else. In this position, you will test and review gear daily, edit reviews from staff and freelancers, and ensure that all gear content is accurate, credible, and on-brand. This position is based in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. NOTE: For consideration, resumes must be received in .pdf format with a cover letter, salary requirements, and a link to a portfolio of work.

Responsibilities:
• Work with the test director, associate test directors, and search manager to plan and publish cycling content in line with performance metrics
• Guide, edit, and mentor the group's cycling test editors
• Ensure all cycling gear content is technically accurate, authentic, and relevant to our audience.
• Use testing experience, insight, data, and sound reporting to identify exceptional low-cost products for our audience (and help them avoid poor-performing ones), as well as discern marginal performance differences among pro-level gear
• Represent Bicycling and cycling-related Group brands to the endemic industry and community

Qualifications:
• 7+ years professional experience in cycling media, cycling test programs, or active-lifestyle media; digital content production experience is a definite plus
• 10+ years experience in cycling participation
• Standing relationships with endemic industry (such as bike, component, and apparel manufacturers)
• Must be able to manage feedback from multiple parties and deal with fast-changing priorities
• Ability to use data and audience insights to create successful content across platforms
• Must be able to work flexible hours as needed
