Job Description

DUTIES: Responsible for reporting weather and weather-related and environmental stories. Must be adept at adlibbing information conversationally and disseminating information unscripted in a compelling story telling style. Candidate will be available to appear at community events, speaking engagements, promotions and other FOX5 functions, and as such, represents FOX5 to the public.

REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have undergraduate degree or equivalent related experience. Prefer individual who has either reported on regularly scheduled news broadcasts on a commercial or public television station or on a radio station or worked as an on-air television professional for commercial broadcasts - news or otherwise with considerable experience weathercasting, hosting and presenting. Ability to adlib news stories related to weather and the environment with ease and accuracy. Candidate must be a person willing to involve themselves in continuing education in the field of meteorology. Must be able to report on news stories as well as produce weather in newscasts.
